People Development Manager


The People Development Manager is responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs to improve productivity of the organization’s employees. Responsibilities include the assessment of company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives; Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees; Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate, enhance, measure, and recognize performance

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Management

  • Function as a learning and development subject matter expert within the organization
  • Provide guidance on recommendations to fulfill learning and development needs
  • Manage all aspects of multiple People Development projects simultaneously, including scope, cost/benefit analysis, budgets, communication, schedule and, where appropriate, vendor(s)/consultant(s)
  • Develop detailed project plans demonstrating the effective use of internal and external development resources
  • Manage and validate the priority set for all training requests received via the training intake process
  • Collaborate with the People Development leadership team on all People Development projects
  • Create and report metrics documenting the success of People Development projects
  • Ensure effective test plans are implemented to confirm each project meets the training needs of the intended audience
  • Collaborate with team members to set strategic priorities and determine measurable outcomes for new blended and existing learning experiences

Learning Analytics

  • Use learner engagement reports to strategize and implement techniques to drive content usage and LMS utilization
  • Conduct needs analysis to evaluate organizational performance and ensure that training is meeting business needs/organizational objectives
  • Provide recommendations on design and development strategies to internal support teams

Facilitation of Training

  • Deliver job specific training workshops and individual training sessions, as needed
  • Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of ILT/VILT training design delivery; as needed

Team Performance Management

  • Ensure People Development Specialists adhere to the existing ISD process and procedures
  • Ensure the overall team workload is attainable and prioritized according to skillsets and given deadlines
  • Evaluate and streamline design practices and strategies as needed to produce high-quality, high impact learning content
  • Assist Manager, People and Culture in managing People Coordinator administration duties to support People Development

 REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s in instructional design, education technology, organizational development, or similar field of study a plus
  • 4+ years of Instructional Design and L&D experience across multiple delivery channels (blended, F2F, eLearning, etc.)
  • 4 + years of experience with learning management systems, course authoring, and other software for eLearning
  • 2+ years of experience managing and coaching a Learning and Development team.
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience that includes managing scope, resources, budget, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skill in eLearning development applications (for example: Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond/Premiere Pro/After Effects, Photoshop/Illustrator)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Experience working with or servicing a media planning and/or buying company a plus.
  • Quick learner and strategic problem solver – proficient in analyzing business needs and selling value to internal customers
  • Experienced at prioritizing and meeting goals in a fast pace, constantly evolving environment
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and visual communication skills are a must.
